Special Letters 2007

A recent letter from a conference attendee....

Hi, I just wanted to let you know that I was at the
OSEA Conference June 30th and was going to leave after the dinner, but I didn't, when you came on stage to speak and  listened to you I told myself that I had nothing to whine about.  You amazed me.  I realized I had lost myself to taking life to seriously for so long (a workaholic) and I need to find myself and be the fun and laughing person that I used to be and begin enjoying life again. I used to enjoy seeing people happy and laughing and I lost that somewhere. So I want to thank you for reminding me that I can still laugh and start living again.

I have always believed that there is a reason why we cross paths with certain people in life, and God knows those reasons.  I know that there was a reason for being at that conference as I was going to totally skip the whole thing in light of what I have been going thru for the past 2 months. That reason was to listen to you and get myself back on track.
I want to Thank -you from the bottom of my heart.

Hugs .........

Followed up with this...

Hi again, I started today, my neighbors son is almost 4 and I went to the store and got my gummy worms, stuck them up my nose and hung them out of my ears and went out to play!!!! I'd forgotten how much fun it is to play with the kids. I played all day!!! Elijah even shared one of his Spiderman popsicles with me.
Again, thank you, it sure put things into perspective for me. I remind myself to let God take care of things, he really does listen, eh?
Hugs....

Recent Letter:      Dear Mr. Miller,

I was involved some 15 years ago with the Resource Center for the Handicapped (RCH) in Renton, WA, where I was engaged with some volunteer work, and was invited to a luncheon where you spoke. I was so inspired by your story that I remember and employ some of your philosophies to this very day.  I actually believe that the phrase "well, that didn't work" may have preserved my (now 27-year) marriage in some times of particular trial!!  (And I'm not kidding about this.)

So I would like to take this opportunity to thank you so much for contributing to my own life on that particular day, and by extension, for the last 15 years!  A different perspective is sometimes all that one needs to move to an entirely new level of effectiveness and joy in life.  I thank you for you your continued inspiration to me, personally.  Without any fanfare or hoopla, I can unequivocally say that YOU, Dan Miller, have had a definite, and undeniably positive influence on my own life.   I can only hope that others can say the same for me one day.

Sincerely, ...........
