Silence…
God sits and listens. He
doesn’t speak. Just listens.
It’s because I don’t want answers.
He knows that. I just want
praise and approval. Clapping and
recognition. My name in lights.
My book published and a best seller.
Money rolling in.
I gripe and grumble and complain. He
looks out at the beautiful world he created for me to enjoy.
He feels the warm fire I sit in front of.
He listens. He says nothing.
I’ still not ready to listen. I
just want to be miserable. Still He
sits. There is much He could say...
Point out... List what He has done for me... What he has planned to do...How
little I’ve praised Him for all He has done…
Soon, I’ll be through. He
is patient. He will wait with me.
As He has done over and over for years.
He will wait till I’m ready to hear.
To give up my heavy burden of anger.
Grief… Dreams dreamed and crushed and unfulfilled… S’T
Then and only then will He speak. And
bless… And move on… Now
we sit in silence. At least He is
silent…
