"My wife & I read your book on the plane coming home and laughed all the way to Texas!" -Bill

Oh, Dan I gave your book to a friend over at our club.
They have a daughter who is in a wheelchair and way over
weight and quite negative or at least never would
try very hard to improve herself. They
gave the book to this daughter, and
they told me it had changed her life!! She has read it over
and over. She has lost weight, and has had a big
change in attitude. She is trying to live more
independently of them. (She has never held a
job or lived independently of them even as an adult)
Anyway they are so happy. And would love to meet you
whenever you get down this way. I am going to
have to get some more of your books as I am
down to one left. Marlene K.
"I started reading
your book during lunch and laughed by myself through the whole Whopper
Junior. The book was finished before dinner!" -Doris H.-
S. Dakota
"I just finished your
book. It was the hardest book to read I've ever read (It's not
easy to read when your eyes are filled with tears). I so closely
relate to your struggles and pain and know that I too can
overcome!" --Bob H. - Oregon
"In 1988 we had an
auto accident where 5 died including my husband. My back was
broken and I became a paraplegic. I always focus on the negative and
tend to be a pessimist. I have four children. You have
really inspired me to be a positive mom." -Janet J. -Missouri
"Just finished your book, Dan, for the second time. I don't
like to read unless it's Garfield, Mad Magazines or Calvin and
Hobbes. I think you are the most amazing person in the
history of mankind. I would give up almost anything to meet
you!" -Adam P. 12
years old - United Arab Emirates
"I went through a
divorce about two years ago. Your book helped reaffirm that I'm
OK and can go on to achieve whatever I set my mind on."
- John S. - Kansas
"After reading your
book, if I could get out of bed, I would Dance!" - Bessie J. -
Florida (age 97)
"Mom gave me your
book, LLLL! I have already finished it! Being 14 and not liking
to read that much, I thought that this book was the most incredible
thing that a freshman in high school could ever have! Thanks SO
much!!" - Katie L. - Indiana
Dear Dan, "A friend recommended
your book, L-L-L-L. I decided to skim it and read it later. NO
WAY! I started-finished-didn't miss one word. Great!" - James
D. 90 years old- Washington
"I blew 3 fingers off
my hand (Huge firecracker). I thought my life was over. After
reading your book, I now believe I can do anything! Thanks." - Brad
- 19 years old - Idaho
"Dan, as I read your
book, I was bowled over by the truth, that life is to good a gift to
be spent worrying about what will happen next, at the same time
obsessing over all that went wrong before." - Jeff H. Medical
Student - California
"My wife and I felt a bit blue the other day.
We started reading your book, and I must tell you, within moments, we
were feeling great!"- Peter E. - Alaska
Dear Dan, " I am incarcerated
in the State Prison for a few more years. After reading your book, I
realize I am wasting my life. Just reading your book makes me feel
like a better man. Thank you!" - Ron H. - Arizona
"The only thing that would have made your book
better is if it were longer. I tried to read the last chapters slowly
--to extend the book." --Mary W. -Washington
"I just finished your book. Thanks for making
me feel better." -Donna T. (Ex-Grump) Connecticut
Dan, "I just finished your wonderful book. I
loved it and learned heaps (as the Kiwis would say) about the
possibilities in life."
- Clay N. -New Zealand
"I started reading your book, couldn’t put it
down! I will always treasure my autographed copy."-Jim T. -Indiana
"I had the most belly laughs & tears I've had in years. The picture on the cover,
is worth the price! Dan takes you thru a lifetime of challenges most of you never dreamed of and makes us aware of our attitudes toward others. I was given my first copy--- could not put it down til finished. Bought 3 more to give to my "children".

I am a 39 yr
old mother of 3 and an avid reader. I live in Newcastle N.S.W.
Australia and came across your book at a huge Christian bookstore in
Sydney
(100miles South of here).
I wanted to let you know what a fabulous read it was and that I can
think of
heaps of friends who will enjoy it too. It is certainly one of the
most
inspirational books I've read in a very long time and is so easy to
read. I
especially enjoyed the pictures of you and your family. They helped to
open
your life to me and made me feel like I have traveled with you in a
small
way as you have triumphed in so many varied and amazing situations.

Dear Dan,
My name is Alison
Mazurkiewicz and I am a special education teacher in Dyer, Indiana.
You spoke to our school system two years ago at the beginning of the
year. This year I used your book as a novel for my
self-contained reading class and I can't explain how much my
student's got out of it. You have made a tremendous difference
to them all and gave them hope in fighting their disabilities.
We all love Mondays, too!! They would be thrilled if you were
to contact us by email. If you get the opportunity, could you
drop us a line or two? Thank you and happy holidays to you and
all of your dreammakers!!!
Sincerely,
Alison M.
Dear Dan,
My name is Lauri R. I met you Saturday, August 16th, at DFW Airport.
I hope you remember me, I was your bus driver from the rental car center to
the terminal. Your wife offered me one of your books and you signed it
for me.
I loved it. I read most of it before I went home that day...between
driving and ignoring other passengers because I didn't put the book down to
notice them. Your book made me feel so good inside. I was
laughing, crying, sighing, etc. It truly is a great book.
I have a brother, Kevin, who is now 37 as of today and he lives in a
nursing center in Ft. Worth. He was diagnosed with diabetes at the age
7. He is now blind and bound to bed and wheelchair. He has
dialysis three times a week. His life is there in his room with only
the visits from my mom, my kids, and me and occasionally my dad and other
brother. I am going to order your audio tape of the book for him (for
Christmas). I don't know if it will affect him the way it has me.
But your book has definitely opened my eyes and I realize now that his life
would be better if he had more loving support from his family. Before,
visiting Kevin, was a duty, a chore, something that had to be done so he
could get his diapers and have his laundry picked up. Now I realize
that even though my visits are short, it may very well be the most exciting
thing he looks forward to all week. Even though I know that I love my
brother, he may not. You are an inspiration. I feel guilty to
say that it took reading your book before I could be more compassionate
towards him (regardless of our past).
I truly wish that someday I will see you again so I can give you and your
wife a great big hug. But for now, I will concentrate on saving my
hugs for my brother.
By the way, I also looked at your website and found out that you and your
wife were on my bus the day after your wedding anniversary.
Congratulations!
Your new admirer,
Lauri
